Featured Band Mar 7th: Blackcat Manor

Blackcat Manor

is a progressive punk rock metal band from Freeport, Illinois, two hours west of Chicago. Blackcat formed in 2013 when five friends, all of whom were long time musicians, coalesced. From the outset, Blackcat realized that they had something profound to say, which strengthened their desire to play with the speed and power that their ideas deserved. Blackcat’s music is a powder keg of raw emotion. The socially conscious lyrics set to blistering riffs and melodic breaks showcase the wide range of influences that pour out of these seasoned professionals. Blackcat’s hometown, Located in northwestern IL, has allowed the band to tour regionally with ease. Mainly hitting Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.

In 2014 Blackcat produced and released their self-titled EP, recorded at Gray Angel Productions in Rockford IL, to considerable acclaim. The band sold a substantial number of copies and downloads of the EP. Following up, they anticipate even greater success with their second EP set to be recorded in February at the renowned Downbeat Studios in Chicago, as producer Adam Burd takes the helm. With the upcoming release expected in late spring of 2016, Blackcat is certain to reinforce the powerful presence they have established with fans. As they continually connect with their fan base through social networking, ceaseless performing, and perpetually supporting any scene that they encounter, Blackcat lives the music they love. Constant progression and furthering experience through a reciprocal appreciative relationship with musicians and fans is the main goal of the band. So experience them online, on the road, or a on a stage near you, and learn how family isn’t necessarily bound to blood. This is heart. This is Blackcat Manor.
